One of my past downloads has been a program to manage multiple monitors, but many people can't afford two monitors or a video card that can support dual output. So here is a free download from Microsoft that will give you four desktops on one monitor. You can get it here.

I really like this b/c you can have one desktop for all your IM chat, one for your work, whatever you can think of. It makes it easyer to keep track of everything your doing. Try it out and tell me what you think!

If you read the comments for my post named "Sp2 Problems!" you will see Newbie's problem about his dial up connection.

There are a few things that I find very strange about your problem, firstly SP2 hasent been known to mess up hardware. They only thing it would do would be firewall your dialup connection which it totaly useless. Windows can't just decide to not allow you to install your drivers, there is always a by-pass function to allow you to install any driver even if it hasent been microsoft tested. Now if your modem is a few years old the drivers may not support SP2. In that case look for high-speed service in your area if your too cheap to get high-speed then just pick up a new modem. Also wut i find very strange is that your problem wasent fixed after uninstalling SP2.

Now TURN WINDOWS UPDATE BACK ON!!! Honestly you need the security updates, windows SP2 isnt going away so they best thing to do is reinstall SP2 and work on getting everything working with it. If you dont your allowing your computer to be a sitting duck to any script kiddie or that pale kid that lives a few houses down the street. Take this into concideration, after installing windows xp from the CD you will have "Blaster" within 10 minutes of leaving your computer exposed on the internet without a firewall. Do what you think is right, i can only try to help you out! :-)

Rael: Your boot time will speed up after a few days, mine was 5 min on the first reboot after SP2 was installed i'm down to about 20-25 seconds. Reinstall Tiger Woods 2004 and update all your hardware drivers. That should fix u up...but wait a few weeks b4 you do that. Make sure the hardware drivers are made after Sp2 was released so you know they may have actually tryed to fix some problems up!

Code 12 there is not enough free ressources. Book back with SP1 and it works just fine

Answer: Well wow, SP2 is giving alot of people problems. Wut you can do is reinstall the SATA drivers after you update to sp2. If not, well your pretty much screwed unless microsoft puts out a patch for sp2 to fix up random little things that are happening.

Well if you live in Canada, or your school also starts on Sept 7th...then summer break has almost come to a end.

I went back to school shopping...ends up that all i needed was a pair of jeans..i'm constantly shopping. Its fun if you go with some1 who also likes to shop, once i went with this kid named Chris, OMG...I could have just jumped into the fountain and drowned!

So i picked up Doom 3 today too...haven't installed it yet. I hope it rox as much as the reviews say. Its been a quiet week so nothing major has happend.

I had my pre operative appointment today, it was a total waste of time. All they did was ask me the same questions that i filled out on a questionare they gave me like a month ago. It still took 2 hours, b/c the doctor was busy with somthing that was apparently more important then me. My operation is next friday, so wish me luck!! HAHA!

Has anyone ever been downloading a file and its going to take 3 more hours but your going to bed, but dont want to leave the computer on all night?? Sure happens to all of us (i think..lol).

My favourite program is AYE Shutdown. You get a free trial for i think its about 30 days. If you arn't willing to spend the 20 or w/e bucks for the full version. Search download.com for a open source shutdowner thingie.

Security is everyones biggest problem online...from weak passwords, to open ports its all just a pain. So lets nip it at the bud. This program by Steganos changes your ip every second to 1 minute by using proxy servers. The link to the program is at the bottom.

Ok some little tips when making a password dont use somthing like "Sunshine" "Dog" "Peanut"...why you ask? well those are dictionary words and a good hacker can find out your password in a few seconds. So lets say your password is "delta" instead of delta try "D3Lta" a combination of upper and lower case with numbers is much harder to crack. It is possible to take months even years to crack it! Who has that much time?

Does anyone want a old, mean, nasty, pissy, father? I got one! Honestly If i could sell my dad i would, to anyone...i really dont care!

Hes constantly pissy about everything, he even got pissy at me for not liking waffles (I only like eggos) he got some nasty 12 for .99 cents or somthing! I'm like they taste nasty he takes a bite and says they are fine. So i check in the freezer a little while ago and wut do i see the 12  for .99 cent waffles are gone and in its place a nice new box of Eggos! He can never be wrong!

He called me a asshole today too for no reason! I told my mommy and she told him off good...it was worth it!

Well if your running Windows XP you may have already been prompted to install SP2 (Service Pack 2) and if you did HAHA! No i'm kidding. I have been running SP2 since last Friday without a problem. The only program that dosent seem to work is Asus Probe, and i really didn't need it anyways so no reason to pout. My start up has been slowed down by about 5-10 seconds, again no problem! ...BUT... the first restart after installing the service pack is HELL! It must have taken 5 min to start up to the point where i can use it, usually its only about 30-60 seconds. But its fine now!

Microsoft has posted about 50 programs and a few games that just arnt working well with sp2 take a look here.

If you are having a problem with a program after your upgrade to SP2 and its not on the list tell me about it!

This is more of a order then a tip really..lol

Everyone has to update!! Surprise surprise they fix stuff in newer versions of programs and drivers that was wrong in earlyer versions. Go make a list of the parts you have with model numbers and the makers websites and go get new drivers and versions of everything!

Some people say if it aint broke dont fix it, but honestly its a computer wut could go wrong! You mess it up, format its like a dry erase board you dont get pissed that you mispelt somthing u just go back and erase it!

Well the BBQ yesterday didn't go as bad as I thought. It seemed like everyone had a great time. I think this is my cousins first BBQ that she organized so she had way way too much food. There where 4 different kinds of salad, some crazy stuff with feta cheese in it, kabobs, sausages, and some other crap that i didnt try...and just huge amounts of everything. YUMMY tho!

Kat her boyfriend Steve and his friend Brad came, they are seriously kool, Kat tryed to get me drunk again, she suceeded, AGAIN! Damn shes good. She took me for my licence a few months ago so she insisted on making me drive to her house from Lydias (my cousin hosting the party). Its like 5 min away but i was freaking out, i have never drivin her car b4 but its soo easy to drive.

So around 4 hours into the BBQ I started getting so drunk that i couldent see very well anymore, so i stoped..LOL good times!

So it was a good night and everyone had super fun! :D

I couldent think of anything really good to post so i thought of a few little tips and programs that make my life easyer!

Tip #1: Dont run programs unnessesarily, if you arn't listening to music or chatting at the moment then close your music program! Acutally close msn or yahoo dont just sign out.

Tip #2: If you notice your computer is running oddly slowly or random errors and freezing or hickups happen, JUST RESTART! Most people freak out and start calling tech support or the closest computer repair shop. You would be surprised wut can be solved by a restart!

Tip #3: Have Microsoft Outlook minimize to the system tray! Add this line to the registry then restart!

Program #1: If you have more then one monitor and would like the windows toolbar to extend into the other monitor get a program named UltraMon.

Program #2: Mozilla Firefox is a great alternative to Microsoft's IE. Get it here!

Also here is a awsome website that will scan your computer and give you feedback on it. Hopefully it wont find anything wrong but if it does it usually gives you a download or somthing to patch up your problem!

Well for a very short 3 - 4 days my house was nice and quiet...all that changed this morning. As soon as my bro woke up which was about ohh 5 hours after i went to sleep. He insisted on trying to get into my room to play PS2. At the door hitting it, calling out my name, anything to get me out of bed. All my mom did was well nothing, she never does anything! Sits about 40feet away in a different room yelling.."SHHH Alex is asleep!" As if I can't hear her more clearly then Jason!

There is a family BBQ later today, it should be ok but my favourite cousin wont be there her name is Alicia. The other punks will be there but its not the same. We have a connection, we can take somthing so stupid and make it so funny and work of each others jokes untill our cheeks hurt from smileing so much.

Well its that time again! Here is my tip for today, been doing it for 3 days now. Seems to be going well, if you like my computer tips please comment on them.

Now, How to defragment your hard drive? Lets first find out why all Windows users need to do this every few months if not every month. Think of your hard drive as a house with rooms. You are in that house and want to read a book. The most efficient way of doing this is having all the pages in the same room and in order. When your hard drive is fragmented those pages are scattered in every room in the house. So to read that book you will first have to collect all the pages and organize them which is not very efficient or fast. So we defragment the hard drive so all the files and programs are put together in order.

To get them in order we need a program to move all the "pages" around so they are all in order. Now defragmenting will move files around on the hard drive itself not what folder you have put it in. So convenently microsoft has put a good defragmenter in windows, all you have to do is go to:

Start-> All Programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> Disk Defragmenter

If you have windows 2000 or later you can hit analyze and that will tell you if you need to defragment or not. But i do it every month if it needs it or not just to keep the computer running smoothly. It will take anywhere from 5 min. to a few hours depending on the speed of your computer and hard drive.

Well I pretty much called everyone I know, and they are either busy or away. How crazy, am i the only loser not doing anything? **Probably**

Also its not like I can go down to the boardwalk or anything its raining right now. Even if it stops the boardwalk sucks when its wet. Its nice to see the water and stuff, but meh.

So it looks like another day of movies, music and trying to figure out what to do. Seeing that its still raining and i started writing this blog about 45 min ago, it dosent look like this day can be salvaged. I think i'm going to think of some new computer tips, probably going to post 2 today. I have one idea but not sure how to make it work.

If my dad ever gets up I might go to work with him today, depends if he goes in or not. I hope he does that will give me somthing to do and a ride in the new SUV, damn I love that thing...lol.
